Making Money From Videos, Photos and Blog Entries
by Michael Haaren

Could an amateur video of Mentos being dropped in Coke bottles earn thousands of dollars for its makers? Strange but true. Sites like Google and Revver are pairing amateur videos with ads to generate revenue that’s shared with contributors. (Grab your camera and shoot your pet parrot singing Wagner’s “Ring of the Nibelungen.”)

What other new and legitimate sources of dollars is the Internet offering the home-based “minipreneur”? There are too many to list here, but sites such as Scoopt.com are selling amateur news photos and blog entries to the media and splitting the fees, while old standby eBay helps “Trading Assistants” make money by pairing them with new eBay sellers, with the Assistants receiving a percentage of the sale (click here to learn more).

For more on all this, see Trendwatching.com, one of our favorite sources of cutting-edge news on consumer trends internationally. And to earn points for merchandise when you spot a trend emerging in your neck of the woods, go to SpringSpotters.com.
